Pinterest Favs - Spring Is In the Air

Spring is here. And with that comes a little more color, a little more fun and anticipation of warm, sunshiny weather! I can't wait to slip on some flip flops, with freshly painted coral pink toes and enjoy the spring flowers outside. Here are a few of my favorite pins from the week.

Big News!

I have been absent from this little blog I adore for quite some time. If you are reading this, thanks for stopping by. I hope to back to posting more frequently and getting back in to the blogging world.

We have had some excitement in the past few months in our family. We recently moved into our new home. We have been looking for over a year and this was the home we kept coming back to over and over again. This is our forever home. Where we can picture of kids growing up, parties in the backyard, many holidays and lots and lots of love. We are excited to be here!

I will be sharing tips I learned through the moving process. And fun, new organizational ideas because I have more space to organize in the new place! Yay! I also plan to share my adventure of decorating this house and making it our home. The twins are in their own rooms for the first time and want girl and boy specific rooms. Plus this house has a pool. It is something I am still adjusting to, but I think we will enjoy it once we feel we have all safety precautions in place. So there will be pool party posts for sure!

And last but definitely not least . . .  We are THINKING PINK! We are expecting a little girl late this summer and are thrilled to add a new bundle of love to our family. I can't wait to share the excitement of planning the nursery and preparing for another little one as we get closer to the big day.

Happy Blogging!

Pinterest Favs - Cape Cod Dreaming

I would love to visit Cape Cod. I envision sunny days playing in the water and evenings by a fire pit after a clam bake. Mind you, I don't love sea food but I do love all things nautical and the party decor for a clam bake would make me all kinds of happy!
Sources - Recipe for a perfect trip to Cape Cod - Brilliant blue waters and casual boat rides, Great advice for meeting new friends, Beautiful lemon display for an afternoon party by the shore, Lazy summer days on sandy beaches, Cool watermelon cooloers in adorably quaint mason jars, the perfect crisp, preppy flowers, A little piece of mind.

Pinter Favs - Jump into Spring!

Lately Pinterest has been flooded with pins filled with loads of color and hints of all things Spring. We are so excited for the warmer weather, longer days and time spent outside playing. Looking at my Pinterest feed just brightens my mood these past few weeks. But then it happened. We got snow late this week. Unheard of here in the NW. We are ready for tulips and bunnies and all things with a new beginning. Today it is warm and sunny with blue skies. I hope the springy spirit of these Pinter Favs will help bring Spring in to stay. We are ready!

Row by row from left to right.
  •  Egg cake pops - I have been wanting to make cake pops for a long time. This seems like the perfect opportunity with Easter coming up. And if my outer frosting layer isn't perfect - it won't matter because of the sprinkle coating! Making these this week for Easter prep!
  • Leaf Earrings - these are dainty and simple. Perfect.
  • Books - Love the color. And I love a good notebook. Moleskins are my favorite right now. And Target sells them now. Two favs in one place!
  • Yogurt Bites - So simple, tasty and fun! My daughter has renamed them Bubble Bites. We make them with Greek yogurt and she eats them like candy. Delicious. They will be perfect for Summer.
  • Washi Tape - This tape is fascinating. Or I should say what people do with this tape is so creative. I just bought some and can't wait to try it. Maybe on some Easter gifts??
  • Easter bark - How cute and colorful. We are making this tonight. I will let you all know how it turns out.
  • Tulips - I adore tulips. One of my favorite flowers. Clean and crisp. Always reminds me of Spring. The second bunch is packaged so nicely with the brown paper and black bow. Very classy. This one is from a new blog I found - Camille Styles. I love her taste, desire for color and her site is gorgeous. Check it out.

Happy Pinning!

Pinter Favorites

Pinterest is blowing up. Each day there are more and more people talking about it at work, I login to my account and have more followers (some friends and others strangers) and my husband forwards me articles daily from his tech blogs talking all about Pinterest. I think there is a mass appeal with Pinterest. People are enjoying/using Pinterest for different reasons. Some love the beauty and visual appeal, some use it as a way to plan a major event in their life, others are inspired to try new recipes, fashion ideas, projects and even others love Pinterest for the overall great ideas.

I say I am a pinner and a doer. I feel I can justify my addiction to my nightly pinning habit because I do try so many of the things I see on Pinterest. I am inspired by things I see. I take projects and craft ideas and tweak them to fit my toddler's abilities. I love that I can create a board for a special event or project and save all of my ideas in one clean, pretty place. And I love that I can comment on friend's pins and communicate with them in a new way. There are some pinners I have never met or talked to but I feel like I kind of know them because we follow each other and I am used to their pins.

For me it is a fun, collaborative place that inspires me in many aspects of my life. I truly enjoy it. If you have still not taken the Pinterest plunge, leave a comment and I will send you an invite. You can take a peek for yourself and see what you think.

And now, on to my latest favorites . . .
From left to right (row by row)
  • Love the rainbow of colors. Makes me think of sherbert. Yum.
  • Barre 3. This is my new found love (other than Pinterest, and my hubs and kids). Amazing, energizing, strengthening workout that I can do from the comfort of home. My friend Jenni introduced me to it and I cannot say enough good things about it. Try it and see. You won't be disappointed!
  • Gorgeous flowers. Simple, chic and pretty.
  • Love day cupcakes. We had such a wonderful Valentine's Day. These cupcakes are cute and look easy to make. Maybe next year?
  • Great quote.
  • Packaging. What is not to love? Color organized, simple, packaging supplies. All of possibilities . . .
  • Simple Love Quote. Says it perfectly.
  • Polka Dot Straws! These are adorable! Can't wait to use them at my next party or just around the house. LOVE them.

Quick Organizing Tips

Here are two quick, simple organizing tips. I implemented both at my house last weekend and can honestly say I am loving both changes! Try either or both of these ideas and let me know what you think. I saw both tips on Pinterest (where else?).

TIP - ADD A RECYCLE BIN UNDER THE SINK
We try to recycle but it seems the recycling builds up next to the sink - cans and flattened cardboard packaging that needs to be taken out to the garage to the big recycle bin. The constant pile (and when I say constant, it was taken out multiple times per day but still) was driving me crazy! We removed everything from under the sink other than the dish soap, garbage can, fire extinguisher and we added another can designated for recycling. I love having it there. It is so easy to use and I find I am actually recycling more than I was before because of how convenient it is. Once the bin is full, we take the whole thing to the garage and empty it. Loving it!

TIP - USE A SHOE RACK TO HOLD CLEANING SUPPLIES
Once we removed everything the sink, I quickly needed a new place for our cleaning supplies. I had seen this on Pinter and ran to Target and bought this over the door shoe rack. They had three different kinds but the other two were fabric. This one is plastic and I figured it would be easy to wipe down if anything spilled on it.

I was a little nervous about two things - 1. Would the bottles fit? and 2. Would my little ones be able to reach the supplies? All of the bottles, even the thicker ones, fit perfectly. And my little ones cannot reach up to where the bottles start so it is perfect. I didn't have enough bottles for the whole thing so I added our rubber gloves, extra sponges, magic eraser, etc. I put ours on the back of the door in our laundry room. It is right off of the kitchen and a perfect location.

In the last week I have found it is so much easier to grab one of the cleaners from this organizer than it ever was before under the sink digging around looking for items. I am thrilled!

Leave a comment with a simple, organizing tip you have implemented. I am always looking for new ideas!

Happy Organizing!

I am thrilled Pinterest has fixed their counters and activity logs. I love the up to the minute updates. I am always looking for new, creative and interesting pinners to follow. Leave a comment with your user name and/or a user name of a pinner we should follow. Let's get pinning!

From top left:
  •  Closet - I have been obsessing with closet organization lately. I would love to have an entire closet room with a center island. Ooh la la. It would be amazing!
  • Paper Bows - Sometimes the packaging is more special than what is inside.
  • Nave Stripe Skirt - Need I say more? Adore it!
  • Dark hardwood floors - I love this look. And the distressed floors are so cool. Definite possibility in our next home. They will be perfect for wear around the house with little kids running around.
  • Quote - Good to remember. You are the only one who can be you. Do it well.
  • Ruffle Cake - Perfect for a little girl party or a baby shower. The ruffles are perfect. You could do an entire ruffle theme!

Pinterest Favorites - New Years Eve Style

Happy New Years Eve! This last Pinterest favorites post is in honor of the fabulous way we end each year. Celebrations, time with friends and loved ones and of course a little shimmer. See below for details on these NYE inspired pins.

- Earrings - I am loving this style of earring right now. Bigger than a stud but not a hoop or a dangle. But it still packs a lot of punch. And gold is so warm for the holidays. Perfect!
- 2012 - This is a great, festive idea. Wrap tinsel around cardboard numbers (or letters for another holiday).
- Cell Phone Case - This shimmery case is perfect for a night out on the town celebrating the new year. Plus it won't get lost among the rest of the phones - this one sparkles all on its own.
- Sparklers - I don't think you can see a sparkler and not think celebration. They are a staple on the 4th of July, more and more people are using them at their weddings and now NYE - what a perfect way to light up the night!
- Champagne Bubbles and Dancing on the Table - A traditional NYE isn't complete without a little bubbly. And sometimes the bubbles can lead you to do things you wouldn't normally do. Like dancing on the tables. Let loose and have fun!
- A Festive Toast or two - Whether your night involves living it up on the town or movies at home snuggled up on the couch, a toast to reminisce the special moments of 2011 or one to dream and wish about 2012 is always in order.
- The Dress - If you are ringing in 2012 out on the town, a fabulous dress is always a must. And this sparkly number is a hit!
- The Shoes - Need I say anything about these shoes? FABULOUS!

Hope this inspired your night!

Happy Celebrating!

Quote - This is perfect. How cute would this be at a wedding.

Hydrangea - My favorite flower. We had white and green hydrangeas at our wedding. I love how simple and calm they are.

Winter Scene - Perfect capturing of the winter spirit. Love the twinkle lights. They make everything prettier.

Packaging - Cute idea for a stocking stuffer or a place setting. Each person sits down to a surprise!

Shimmer - Need I say more? Fabulous!

Champagne - Such a fun idea. Serve these as the bridal party gets ready. Or at any celebratory event. And the presentation is so cute!

Holiday Packaging - I love the pop of color on the traditional holiday wrap. And they did this all with school supplies. My holiday paper is usually on the less traditional side with lots of jewel tones and sparkle. Festive and fun, but different.

Snowmen Treat - Easy seasonal treat that looks adorable too! Marshmallows on a stick, dipped in white chocolate and decorated! Perfect for the littles at a holiday gathering.

Sprinkles Cake - As much as the holidays are on the brain, so are birthdays. Our twins birthday is December 23. I am always on the hunt for special ways to make their day special in the midst of the holiday craze. I love this cake. Maybe one pink and one blue!

Apparently I was a inspired by red this week. Maybe it is the upcoming holiday season. Whatever it is, I do enjoy red. A lot!

1. Monogram Ornament - I cannot wait to make this. I plan to do the first initials of all our first names.

2. Sparkle Bright Red Polish - Doesn't this just scream Christmas Eve? I don't know if I could pull it off but it just looks fun.

3. Twinkle Lights - Who doesn't like twinkle lights? They give a whimsical feeling to anything.

4. Packaging - I am loving the polka dots, checks and flat ribbons with adorable labels. I like the idea of no bows for my packaging this year. Simple, easy to stack, and fun with custom labels. We will see, I am a pretty big bow girl. So I don't know if I can go cold turkey. Stay tuned.

5. Palm Springs - Palm Trees? Yes. I am getting in the mood. We will be heading to the sun for part of the holidays and we are SO looking forward to it. Rest and relaxation here we come.

7. Stair Decor - I love everything about this. Makes me want to live in a country farmhouse with a huge stair case.

8. Snowball Martini - Delicious.

9. Yogurt Bar - Great idea for a shower. Make your own yogurt parfait with fruit. Yum!

Check out my favorite pins of the week!

1. Birthday Rolodex - I LOVE this idea. Perfect way to organize birthdays, add to it each year and you can make it pretty to look at while it sits on your desk. It would also be a great gift for someone. You could fill in family birth dates for the person to get them started. I am going to make mine with anniversaries also. And with all of the friends who are pregnant or getting pregnant, I will be adding lots of new BIRTH days too! Yay!

2. Vintage Holiday Dress - I am a sucker for little girls dressed up in classic holiday attire. My mom started the tradition of buying my little ones their holiday outfits each year. Think lots of plaid, vests on him, smocked dresses on her. Oh, the holidays. We cannot wait for you to arrive so we can get in those outfits!

3. Shimmer Shimmer - Doesn't this make you want to celebrate? Or craft? Or just smile? The colors are amazing. I do love color. And anything glittering and sparkling draws me in. I have a new board dedicated purely to the shimmer. It is pretty fun. Click here to see the sparkle that inspires me.

4. Button Ornament - This looks fun and easy and the finished product is adorable. Can't wait to try it.

5. Always.

6. Up do - Very classy. I really like twist coming down across the back. Elegant.

7. Peonies - Always a favorite. Clean and pretty.

8. Holiday Potpourri - I can almost smell this just looking at it. I am getting so excited for all things holiday!

All About Pinterest

I admit it. I am 100% addicted to Pinterest. And I am not ashamed! For those of you who aren't familiar with Pinterest (Pinter as I like to call it) it is an online place you can create vision boards for all different aspects of your life, plans, dreams, travel, recipes, ideas, etc.

I think there are different kinds of pinners (people who "pin" on Pinterest). There are those who just pin. And there are those who pin and then do. I am in the second category. I have created a board to list the ideas, projects and recipes I have actually tried. Pinning is fun. It sparks my creative side. And I love all of the pretty, colorful images. Very visually pleasing.

If you aren't already on Pinterest and would like and invitation, email me and I will send you one. If you are like me, you will lose a few hours of sleep late at night pinning away but you will be oh so inspired. Where else can you find a creative project to keep your toddlers busy, a recipe for dinner, great ideas for your next trip, photography tips and the new shimmery dress you must have for the holidays - all in under 3 minutes!

This will be the first of my weekly posts of my favorite or most inspiring pins of the week.

1. Gorgeous Packaging - Holidays are right around the corner. I like to step out of the box with our Christmas tree decor and wrapping paper. This pin reminds me of our packaging. Bright jewel colors. And I love putting the balls on packages as garnishes. Love it!

2. Stripes - Can you tell I love stripes? Interesting idea for a hallway.

3. Cookies - Different recipes for each day of December. You can always use a new cookie recipe. Especially when getting ready for the holiday cookie exchange rotation.

4. Quote - Simple is good.

5. Boots - I love red. And bows. Who could resist these boots???

6. Holiday Light Photos - I am always attempting to get the perfect shot of the tree. Hopefully this will be my year!

7. Baby Photography - I adore baby photos. Being a mama to boy girl twins makes this one even more fabulous to me.

Happy Pinning!
